COMPANY BACKGROUND
Year Established: 1988

Fabkomp has a national presence in South Africa with facilities in King William’s Town; East London and Johannesburg.

King Williams Town is our head office and the central operations base. Our King Williams Town facility is 12000m2 under roof. We fabricate multiple parts for the automotive sector from this plant including air receivers, chevron boards, abnormal load winch components etc.

Currently all our heavy machining is done here as well as our logistics supply. We are a line supplier to Mercedes Benz Commercial at the plant in East London. We also manage all the local content parts supply and stores for MBSA Commercial.

Fabkomp has a long relationship with ESKOM as a specialized canopy supplier. We have developed the ESKOM spec butterfly canopy and worked closely with the end user to configure the currently LDV solution being used.

After an absence in the commercial body market for some time, Fabkomp has revitalized this part of the business. We are now involved in truck body building and repairs on a full time level with a dedicated body building premises in East London. We build a range of bodies including Drop Sides, Van Bodies, Curtain Side Bodies, Roll Backs, Tippers, Tankers and such. All our bodies are CAD designed in 3D and lazer cut.

This process has allowed us to reduced floor errors as well as the need to mark and drill on the floor. It also allows us to deliver the neatest load bodies around due to our lazer accuracy and CNC bending.

Fabkomp also has a dedicated team of specialists building Ambulances and Clinics. With years of experience in this field, FABKOMP is able to offer high end vehicle conversions including BLS, ILS and ALS conversions as well as screening clinics, OHS clinics and SANBS blood clinics.

Fabkomp is a shareholder in the e-RANGER motor cycle company and supplies side car Ambulances and Clinics as well as a host of other side car options to nearly every country in Africa. All side cars and accessories are locally manufactured at our King Williams Town plant and assembled for export.

PERSONNEL

We currently employ 155 staff. 8 staff members have disabilities. Most of these members have hearing loss.

We have a fully staffed technical design office where we provide practical training for Engineering Graduates.

Investing and training of our employees: -

• 7 Apprentices qualify each year
• 96 Experiential learners will get practical qualification every year
• First aid; Fire fighting; Health and Safety and Forklift training etc. is focused on annually
